Softball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Bellbrook Golden Eagles

Franklin is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Bellbrook is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wildcats will welcome the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Franklin is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bellbrook just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Bellbrook's part, Abigail Hebrank (2028) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. Hebrank (2028) has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bellbrook saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chasidy Stewart (OH Christian), who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Bellbrook hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Bellbrook, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-6.
