Basketball Recap: Rolla Piles Up the Points Against Fort Zumwalt North

Rolla had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 74-41 victory over the Fort Zumwalt North Panthers. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rolla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Akaela Caquelin, who went 9 of 18 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The game was Caquelin's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Dodson, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 24 points and five rebounds.

Rolla's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Fort Zumwalt North, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Rolla will take on Howell in a tournament on Friday. Rolla has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Fort Zumwalt North, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fort Zumwalt South at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
