Baseball Game Preview: Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers vs. Riverdale Falcons

Waynesfield-Goshen is 0-3 against Riverdale since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Tigers will head out to square off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m.

Waynesfield-Goshen came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against New Bremen, falling 9-2.

Waynesfield-Goshen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Troy Spencer, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Riverdale owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over North Baltimore. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Evan Reiter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Reiter was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Riverdale's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Waynesfield-Goshen suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Riverdale in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
