Softball Recap: Covington Takes a Loss

Covington couldn't beat Riverside on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Buccs fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in April.

Taylor Foutz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Ouellette, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Covington's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covington will face off against Catholic Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Buccs are facing the Irish at the right time seeing as the Irish are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Riverside, they will challenge Northeastern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
