Football Game Preview: Academy of the New Church vs. Wilmington Friends

Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Academy of the New Church should expect quite the challenge on Saturday. They will take on Wilmington Friends at home at 2:00 PM. Each team will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Academy of the New Church skips in on four wins and Wilmington Friends on three.

Academy of the New Church won against Springfield Township two weeks ago with 35 points, and Academy of the New Church decided to stick to that point total again last Saturday. Academy of the New Church made easy work of Jenkintown and carried off a 35-7 win. Junior Devin Bryant was the offensive standout of the match for Academy of the New Church, as he rushed for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Wilmington Friends came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodbridge, sneaking past 24-21. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (21) and coasted on those for the victory.
