Basketball Game Preview: Lancaster Tigers vs. Skyline Raiders

The Lancaster Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Skyline Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lancaster has nine straight wins, Skyline has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Lancaster earned a 69-57 victory over Cedar Hill. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Longhorns are ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Skyline took a blow against Duncanville on Tuesday, falling 84-41. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lancaster pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Everything came up roses for Lancaster against Skyline in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 90-62 victory. In that contest, Lancaster amassed a halftime lead of 46-25, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
