Basketball Recap: Leesburg Christian Prep Takes a Loss

After a string of three wins, Leesburg Christian Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were dealt an 86-26 defeat at the hands of The First Academy Royals. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading The First Academy to victory were Max Simmons and Nash Barfield. Simmons went 8 of 10 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Barfield went 9 for 12 on his way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Capps, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points.

Leesburg Christian Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for The First Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Leesburg Christian Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Family Christian Center at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for The First Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-51 win against Sebastian River on the 19th.
