Basketball Game Preview: Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors vs. Illiana Christian Vikings

The Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors will face off against the Illiana Christian Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hammond Bishop Noll is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Hammond Bishop Noll ended up a good deal behind Hanover Central and lost 68-51.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaiden Hall, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ecrin Mart, who posted 16 points.

Meanwhile, Illiana Christian earned a 46-38 win over Whiting on Thursday.

Illiana Christian's win came from a few key players Hammond Bishop Noll will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ella Olthof, who put up six points along with 14 boards and five assists. She has become a key player for Illiana Christian: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least eight boards, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Van Beek, who had 14 points and five rebounds.

Illiana Christian's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Hammond Bishop Noll took a serious blow against Illiana Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 66-30. Thankfully for Hammond Bishop Noll, Cheyenne DeJong (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
