Basketball Game Preview: Eastside Eagles vs. Dorman Cavaliers

The Eastside Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Dorman Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Eastside is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Wade Hampton on Tuesday as Eastside made off with an 81-57 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted since January 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, Dorman faced James F. Byrnes in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Dorman was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 72-71 to James F. Byrnes. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (57), the Cavaliers still had to take the loss.

Dorman moved to 12-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Eastside, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Eastside was taken down by Dorman 94-40 in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Can Eastside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
