While Elgin put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Cory-Rawson. The Comets were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Fighting Hornets. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Elgin, bringing their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cory-Rawson, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Elgin will welcome Cardington-Lincoln at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cory-Rawson, they will head out on the road to face off against Hardin Northern at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Polar Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Fighting Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
