Softball Recap: Waltonville Takes Down Steeleville in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Waltonville had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Steeleville Warriors a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Spartans have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Waltonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Steeleville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

As of now, neither Waltonville nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
