Basketball Recap: Knowledge Academies Comes Up Short

Knowledge Academies kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 51-23 loss at the hands of the Maplewood Panthers. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Knowledge Academies' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zerahiah Polk, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 19 boards. Polk is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tamia Campbell, who posted eight points and seven boards.

The victory snapped Maplewood's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Knowledge Academies has already played their next game, a 53-29 defeat against Siegel on the 29th. As for Maplewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Battle Ground Academy on the 29th.
