Basketball Recap: Osbourn Park Starts Season with Loss at Home

Osbourn Park unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. The contest between the Yellowjackets and the Freedom Eagles didn't end well, with the Yellowjackets falling 88-71. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Despite the defeat, Osbourn Park saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jalen Farrell shot 64% from the field en route to 28 points. Another player making a difference was Andrez Bustamante, who posted 11 points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osbourn Park is headed away from home for the first time to take on George C. Marshall at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Freedom, they will challenge South Lakes at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
