Baseball Game Preview: DeKalb Barons vs. Pendleton Heights Arabians

For the second straight game, DeKalb will face off against Pendleton Heights. The Barons will square off against the Arabians at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (DeKalb 2.8, Pendleton Heights 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Saturday, DeKalb came up short against Pendleton Heights and fell 7-3. The Barons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Pendleton Heights' part, Jackson Maifeld spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Colin Axel-Adams was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 13 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryland Montgomery, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Pendleton Heights is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for DeKalb, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-5.
