Basketball Recap: Bentworth Takes a Loss

Bentworth and Sewickley Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Bentworth had to settle for second. They were dealt a 59-26 loss at the hands of Sewickley Academy. Having soared to a lofty 64 points in the game before, the Bearcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Christopher Harper and Ben Hays certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Harper posted 12 points, while Hays scored seven points. That was a full 46.2% of Bentworth's points, marking the ninth time in a row Harper has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Bentworth dropped their record down to 11-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sewickley Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Bentworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sewickley Academy, they have already played their next game, a 48-39 win against Chartiers-Houston on the 20th.
