Preview: Logan vs. Dora/Elida

After having trouble last week, things aren't likely to get any easier for Logan (2-5). It takes on Dora/Elida (4-3) this Friday at 7:00 PM. Both teams have had struggles on the defensive side of the ball, with Logan giving up an average of 43 points per game and Dora/Elida allowing an average of 41.

After flying high the game before (48 points), Logan faltered in its previous match. It simply didn't have it last week, losing 60 - 8 to Melrose. Even though the blowout was expected (Logan is far behind in the national rankings), the defeat still stung.

As for Dora/Elida, it received a tough blow as it fell 66 - 48 to Mountainair. No one was more disappointed by the defeat than senior Kaull Burton, who put up a significant resistance with four TDs. This also marked the 4th consecutive game in which Burton rushed for 100+ yards. Junior Bradley Ramirez was in the mix too, providing Dora/Elida with two touchdowns.

The last time they met, Dora/Elida was the decided 60 - 8 victor. Logan was already in too deep by the half, where the score was 46 - 8. Can it avoid another defeat? We'll see on Friday.
