Basketball Recap: Alvarado Takes a Loss

Alvarado lost against Godley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Alvarado Indians were dealt a 56-13 defeat at the hands of the Godley Wildcats. The matchup marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Alvarado lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Joslyn Jarmon, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 8 points and four steals. Jarmon has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayme Taylor, who posted two points in addition to five assists and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Alvarado and nudges their season record down to 8-10. As for Godley, they moved to 10-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Alvarado and Godley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Alvarado (ranked 503rd) will meet Life Waxahachie (ranked 1202nd) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Godley (ranked 95th) will meet Venus (ranked 858th) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
