The Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds will challenge the La Salle College Explorers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Holy Ghost Prep's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Haverford School with a sharp 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Firebirds, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Bam McNabb tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Holy Ghost Prep let Jake Keaser and Eddie Rosado run wild. Keaser went 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Rosado went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Tyler Bergkoetter was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Holy Ghost Prep lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, La Salle College put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over Roman Catholic. That's two games straight that the Explorers have won by exactly five runs.
La Salle College also got a great performance from Vince Riley as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave Riley a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Dan Murray was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Schmidt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
La Salle College pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Ghost Prep, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
