Baseball Game Preview: Tuscarora Huskies vs. Loudoun Valley Vikings

For the second straight game, Tuscarora will face off against Loudoun Valley. The Huskies will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m.

Tuscarora fell victim to Loudoun Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Huskies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Tuscarora got a good showing from Ethan Johnson, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Johnson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ian Sullivan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Loudoun Valley, bringing their record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Tuscarora, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-11.
