Baseball Game Preview: Bluffton Bobcats vs. Frederica Academy Knights

The Bluffton Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Frederica Academy Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Bluffton fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bryan County on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Redskins by a score of 8-7.

Dawson Kunze was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Tyler Wolfe was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Frederica Academy came tearing into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Seahawks by a score of 5-1.

Bluffton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Frederica Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.

Bluffton couldn't quite finish off Frederica Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2025 and fell 7-5. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
