Basketball Recap: East Central Skates Past Greenwood with Ease

East Central posted their biggest victory since November 6, 2024 on Friday. They blew past the Greenwood Woodmen, posting a 62-35 win. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Woodmen are ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Central found their leader in freshman Natalie Stenger, who went 10 of 13 en route to 22 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Stenger has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Audrina Dugan was another key player, going 7 for 10 on her way to 21 points.

East Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Greenwood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Maddison Judge, who posted ten points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Reynolds, who put up four points and six rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for East Central and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Greenwood, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.

East Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-31 loss against Yorktown on the 27th. As for Greenwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-40 defeat against Triton Central on the 27th.
