Baseball Recap: Fairfield Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fairfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Garrett Railroaders on Thursday as they made off with a 6-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Railroaders last Tuesday, they had to take a 9-0 defeat.

Not much got past Grady Garber, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Garrett off the board. Garber also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fairfield is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Fairfield's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fairfield's record is now 8-6. As for Garrett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield will welcome LaVille at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Garrett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
