Preview: J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado vs. Wilson Bulldogs
J.P. McCaskey is 0-9 against Wilson since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado will be playing at home against the Wilson Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. J.P. McCaskey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 288th, while Wilson is ranked 93rd).
After soaring to 34 points the game before, J.P. McCaskey were a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They were beaten by Cedar Crest 48-6.
Meanwhile, Wilson had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took down Penn Manor 24-6. Wilson pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Penn Manor cut but never quite recovered from.
Tommy Hunsicker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
J.P. McCaskey's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Cedar Crest, Plymouth Whitemarsh, and Cedar Cliff. As for Wilson, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 6-2.
J.P. McCaskey took a serious blow against Wilson in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 63-7. Will J.P. McCaskey have more luck at home instead of on the road?
