Softball Game Preview: Eufaula Tigers vs. Charles Henderson Trojans

The Eufaula Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Charles Henderson Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Eufaula is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Eufaula's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Northside Methodist Academy 16-0.

Jade Barnett made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Barnett was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Nylah Green and Zy'Kayla Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: Green got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Robinson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two triples, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Robinson a new career-high. Maddie Dowling was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Charles Henderson fell victim to Dale County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Warriors. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eufaula's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-15-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Charles Henderson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Eufaula skirted past Charles Henderson 8-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
