Preview: Mansfield Legacy Broncos vs. Mansfield Tigers
The Mansfield Legacy Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Mansfield Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Mansfield Legacy and eight for Mansfield.
Mansfield Legacy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Duncanville on the road and fell 79-35. While losing is never fun, Mansfield Legacy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Duncanville is ranked first).
Meanwhile, Mansfield took a serious blow against DeSoto on Friday, falling 61-11. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mansfield has scored all season.
Mansfield Legacy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season. As for Mansfield, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 11-17.
Mansfield Legacy took their victory against Mansfield when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 66-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mansfield Legacy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
