Arlington hasn't had much luck against Platteview recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will welcome the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Arlington fell victim to Lincoln Lutheran and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Warriors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Arlington got a good showing from Wes Monke, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The Eagles are 5-2 when Monke allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Arlington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Kyllo, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Platteview was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against Beatrice, falling 12-2.
Dylan Thomas made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Nick Clark, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Platteview's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Arlington has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Platteview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
