Baseball Recap: St. Benedict's Prep Takes a Loss

St. Benedict's Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Caldwell Chiefs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in April.

St. Benedict's Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Caldwell, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Benedict's Prep will challenge Dickinson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Caldwell, they will square off against Belleville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Chiefs surely won't give up without a fight.
