Volleyball Recap: Rock Island Comes Up Short

Rock Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Quincy Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on September 4th.

While Rock Island ultimately came up short, they really made Quincy work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-19.

AJ Stewart paced Rock Island's offense, picking up six kills. Stewart really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 12.

Rock Island's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Quincy, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home.

Rock Island wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Galesburg on the 2nd. As for Quincy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Geneseo on the 2nd.
