Peru entered their tilt with Pioneer on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They managed a 46-41 victory over the Pioneer Panthers. 46 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Peru's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alivia Ross led the charge by putting up 11 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ross a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Addie Robbins, who posted 15 points and five assists.

Peru smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.8 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.

Pioneer lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Makenna Strycker, who scored 17 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. The matchup was Strycker's third in a row with at least ten points. Kynzie Hathaway was another key player, earning ten points and six rebounds.

Peru now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Pioneer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Peru wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-35 victory against Eastern on the 25th. Pioneer has also already played their next contest, a 32-30 defeat against West Central on the 24th.
