Softball Recap: Olympia Drops Season-High Score on Lake Highland Prep

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ocoee, Olympia was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders as Olympia made off with a 17-8 victory. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Nellie Robinson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracie Lentine, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Elizabeth Aguilar was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Olympia hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Highland Prep struck out seven times.

Olympia moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lake Highland Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olympia will venture away from home to take on Dr. Phillips at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dr. Phillips' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Olympia's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lake Highland Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Highland Prep is facing Bishop Moore at the right time seeing as Bishop Moore is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
