Football Game Preview: Louisville Wildcats vs. Kosciusko Whippets + Official Tickets

Louisville is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Kosciusko is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wildcats will welcome the Whippets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Louisville's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five games.

Louisville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 34-16 victory over Clarksdale. Louisville's win was all the more impressive since Clarksdale was averaging only 14.33 points allowed on the season.

Louisville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaiden Jernigan, who rushed for 162 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Jernigan has posted since back in September. Another signal caller making a difference was Triston Edwards, who threw for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Kosciusko earned a 14-3 win over Corinth on Friday. Those 14 points were actually the fewest the Whippets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Louisville better keep an eye on Cj Sandifer. He was instrumental in Kosciusko's win, rushing for 172 yards and one score. With that strong performance, Sandifer is now averaging an impressive 100.2 rushing yards per game.

Louisville's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Kosciusko, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Louisville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Kosciusko in their previous matchup back in October, but they still walked away with a 29-24 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Whippets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
