Simla came out on top against Otis on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Cubs had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 9-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cubs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Evan Guy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keygon Frihauf, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Simla and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Otis, they moved to 12-5 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Simla will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Calhan at 10:00 a.m. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.4 runs per game on average), something the Cubs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Otis, they will head out on the road to face off against Flatirons Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bison's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
