Basketball Recap: Western's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After only 21 points in their last contest, Western made sure to put some points up on the board against Tri-Central on Tuesday. The Western Panthers walked away with a 57-49 victory over the Tri-Central Trojans. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Ellyse Walden was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rhiana Bowman, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Creason, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 16 points. Claire Conrad was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 11 points.

The win snapped Western's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-15 record. As for Tri-Central, they dropped their record down to 7-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Western has already played their next match, a 45-35 victory against Logansport on the 5th. As for Tri-Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-37 defeat against Delphi Community on the 31st.
