Baseball Game Preview: Slinger Owls vs. Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes

The Slinger Owls will take on the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Slinger 2.9, Whitefish Bay 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Whitefish Bay will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Slinger extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Owls walked away with a 6-2 win over West Bend East. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Jackson Naber tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Chase Leverance was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Whitefish Bay got themselves on the board against Cedarburg on Monday, but Cedarburg never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Blue Dukes have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Whitefish Bay pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Slinger, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.

Slinger came out on top in a nail-biter against Whitefish Bay in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Owls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Dukes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
