Softball Recap: East Webster Falls Short Against Ranked Pisgah

On Saturday, East Webster faced Pisgah in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The East Webster Wolverines fell just short of the Pisgah Dragons by a score of 3-2. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Webster saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa McCoy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

East Webster's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Pisgah, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

East Webster didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-2 defeat against Neshoba Central on the 8th. Pisgah will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pelahatchie at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th. Pelahatchie knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Pisgah likes a good challenge.
