Volleyball Recap: Cor Jesu Academy Takes Down Ranked St. Dominic

Cor Jesu Academy faced St. Dominic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Crusaders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since October 4th.

Cor Jesu Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-8.

Ginnie Normile was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Cor Jesu Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

Cor Jesu Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for St. Dominic, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-9-2.
