Basketball Recap: Crisp County Skates Past Cook with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Crisp County's strategy against Cook on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Crisp County Cougars blew the Cook Hornets out of the water with a 76-28 final score. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Crisp County was led to victory by Zakariyya Dwight and Caden Lofton. Dwight went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points along with four blocks and three steals, while Lofton went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points and six steals. Dwight is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 23 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Cooper, who posted ten points and six steals.

Crisp County was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cook only posted seven assists.

Crisp County has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Cook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Crisp County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 106-35 victory against Dooly County on the 31st. Cook has also already played their next contest, a 63-52 defeat against Appling County on the 30th.
