Football Recap: A Plus Academy Comes Up Short

A Plus Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Palmer Bulldogs and fell 56-16. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.

Kameron Wells and Jordan Smith certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Wells rushed for 59 yards and one score on only seven carries, while Smith rushed for 51 yards.

Eric Cisneros continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Palmer, rushing for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 168 yards and two TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. What's more, Cisneros racked up 157.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sutton Maddox, who gained 114 total yards and two touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, A Plus Academy fell to 4-1. As for Palmer, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, A Plus Academy and Palmer will both be playing Pilot Point the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
