Softball Recap: Westfield Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, Westfield rose to the challenge on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Noblesville Millers. This was a revenge game for the Rocks: when they faced off against the Millers on May 1st, they had to take a 9-2 defeat.

The team relied heavily on MaKayla Watson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Reese Mahannah was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Westfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Noblesville, they moved to 19-7 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Westfield nor the Millers have any future games scheduled.
