Football Preview: Howe Bulldogs vs. Bonham Warriors

Suggested Video

Howe and Bonham are an even 3-3 against one another since August of 2014, but not for long. The Howe Bulldogs will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on the Bonham Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Howe is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after opening their season on the road. They had to suffer through a 44-13 loss at the hands of Boyd. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Howe's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Riken Cross and Eli Stoner. Stoner's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making a tackle and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Bonham had to endure a nine-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 7-6 photo finish over Pilot Point on Friday.

Howe might still be hurting after the 51-27 loss they got from Bonham when the teams last played back in October of 2021. Thankfully for Howe, Dustan Sewell (who picked up 113 receiving yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
