Softball Recap: Jefferson Eagles vs. Poynette Pumas

While Jefferson put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Poynette. The Jefferson Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Poynette Pumas. The win made it back-to-back victories for Jefferson.

Not much got past Ashlyn Enke, who gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Poynette off the board. Enke has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Jefferson's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hilden Dempsey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Jefferson's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6. As for Poynette, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.
