Softball Game Preview: Waterloo Tigers vs. Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders

For the second straight game, Waterloo will face off against Palmyra-Macedon. The Tigers will take on the Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waterloo has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Waterloo came up short against Palmyra-Macedon and fell 20-16. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

For Palmyra-Macedon's part, Shelby Geer and Elianna Rouland did most of the damage at the plate: Geer went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Rouland went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Jillian Anthony was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

The victory (which was Palmyra-Macedon's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 17.7 runs this season. As for Waterloo, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
