Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

Jordyn Jackson of Sidwell Friends is the 2024-25 District of Columbia MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-1 junior wing led the Quakers to a 27-3 record and DCSAA Class AA title.

For the season, Jackson averaged 19.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. In a 72-44 win over St. John's in the championship game, she scored 27 points en route to MVP honors.

The third District of Columbia MaxPreps Player of the Year from Sidwell Friends in the last four years, Jackson scored in double figures in all but one game, including seven contests with 25 or more.

Regarded as one of the top 10 prospects in the Class of 2026 nationally by 247Sports, Jackson has narrowed her potential college destinations to Alabama, Maryland, Miami, Ohio State, South Carolina and TCU.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released in April.
