Basketball Recap: Norfolk Catholic Takes a Loss

Norfolk Catholic was the 41-39 winner over Archangels Catholic when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Norfolk Catholic Knights took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archangels Catholic Defenders on Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Norfolk Catholic lost, don't look at Sidonia Wattier. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave Wattier a new career-high in blocks (two).

Norfolk Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Archangels Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Norfolk Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Battle Creek on Friday. As for Archangels Catholic, they will head out on the road to take on Howells-Dodge at 4:10 p.m. on Friday. Howells-Dodge is on a three-game streak of home wins, Archangels Catholic a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
