Basketball Game Preview: Westfield Shamrocks vs. Fishers Tigers

Westfield hasn't had much luck against Fishers recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Westfield Shamrocks will challenge the Fishers Tigers at 7:45 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Westfield sitting on six straight victories and Fishers on 37 (dating back to last season).

Westfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Mt. Vernon, who was ranked fourth at the time (Westfield was ranked eighth). Westfield secured a 62-58 W over Mt. Vernon on Tuesday.

It was another big night for Durante Morton, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 26 points and seven boards. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Harvey, who posted 11 points.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Fishers and North Central had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Fishers simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat North Central 86-56. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 24 points or more this season.

Fishers' win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-0. As for Westfield, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.

Westfield couldn't quite finish off Fishers in their previous meeting back in February and fell 67-64. Can Westfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
