Basketball Recap: Montgomery Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

Montgomery Academy had won ten straight home games dating back to last season and Skyler Stovall did his part to make it 11 on Thursday. The Montgomery Academy Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Auburn Tigers, sneaking past 57-54 thanks in part to Stovall, who posted 15 points along with seven boards and three steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 20 times he's played.

Montgomery Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Auburn, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.

Montgomery Academy and Auburn should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Montgomery Academy (ranked 34th) will meet Trinity Presbyterian (ranked 141st) at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Auburn (ranked 21st) will meet Percy Julian (ranked 209th) at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
