Softball Recap: Edison Tommies vs. Roosevelt Teddies

If Edison was riding high off their 9-3 takedown of Harding last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Edison Tommies lost 14-3 to the Roosevelt Teddies on Thursday. Edison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Roosevelt apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

For Roosevelt's part, Olivia Wohnoutka spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Eloisa Lysne was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Abby Holliday was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Edison will stay at home for another game and welcome Blake at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Roosevelt, they will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Richfield at 4:00 p.m.
