Lamar waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 40-39 W against the St. Mary's Pirates. The squad ran away with 28 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Lamar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Weber, who posted 14 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Robbins, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Lamar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in six consecutive games.

St. Mary's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hope Chavez, who scored eight points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Leilani Gordon, who had nine points.

Lamar's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.8 points over those games. As for St. Mary's, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Colorado Springs Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Mary's, they will head out to face off against Woodland Park at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
