Basketball Game Preview: Emerson Mavericks vs. Frisco Raccoons

The Emerson Mavericks will head out to face off against the Frisco Raccoons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Emerson is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Emerson is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Heritage on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Emerson was outmatched by Heritage and fell 89-54. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Coyotes are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Frisco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Liberty.

Frisco's loss dropped their record down to 7-23. As for Emerson, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.

Emerson strolled past Frisco in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 75-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Emerson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
