Silver Valley comes up short despite Jasean Phillips' strong performance

It was a good run, but the Silver Valley Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their 22-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to Granite Hills 76-71. The match was a 31-31 toss-up at halftime, but Silver Valley couldn't quite close it out.
When it comes to explaining why Silver Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jasean Phillips. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Damien Grundy, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Silver Valley's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-2. As for Granite Hills, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Royals at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Victor Valley Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Granite Hills' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Barstow is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
